477,749. Ventilating flour mills. OSTBYE, R. May 18, 1937, No. 13869. Convention date, May 19, 1936. [Class 137] Air from a grinding-mill 3 is withdrawn by a fan 4 through ducts 14, 15, the moisture and heat in this air being utilized by re-introduction of a proportion of the air into the atmosphere around the grinding-mill, a valve 5 determining what proportion of the air passes through pipe 7 to the outside and what proportion is returned through duct 6 to maintain the desired humidity and temperature. The outgoing air passes through a duct 7 in countercurrent to the fresh air, which enters by duct 1 in heat-exchange relation to duct 7, and which is thereby heated. The air may further be heated by heating means in the air ducts. The damper 5 may be controlled by a hygrometer to render the plant automatic.
