[Class 12 (iii).] Lubricant conveyed by mechanical means.-In gearing for a milk - separating machine comprising a bevel wheel 2a secured to a horizontal driving shaft 2 and transmitting motion to the bevel shaft 5 through gearing 3, 4, 6, 6a, 5a, the wheel 2a dips into an oil well and oil adhering thereto is removed from its upper part by a relatively-small bevel pinion 9 mounted on a vertical spindle. The pinion 9 projects the oil centrifugally on to the gearing, and oil is collected in cavities 8a, 8b, 8c in the supporting frame 8 whence it reaches the bearings through ducts 8d. At slow speeds, the oil flows from the pinion by gravity.
