Abstract

341,297. Seat and table supports. HEADLEY, F. H., 53, Woodlands Road, Northfield, Birmingham. Feb. 5, 1930, No. 3967. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii).] A seat, chair, table, &c. includes a pedestal. an n upright tapering shank sliding within it and a screw member adapted to act on a tapering face of the shank to cause a wedgelike engagement. In the example, the pedestal comprises four outwardly splayed legs a each formed by two strips of metal, the upper stems being united by two brackets made of metal angles a<1>. The shank b is of square section but one angle is cut off at an angle to form a tapering flat face b<1>. The screw pin a<3> is held by an opening formed between the strips forming one leg and the depth it is screwed in regulates the height at which the shank is held. Specification 332,759, [Class 52 (ii), Furniture for sitting &c. upon], is referred to.
