[Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii).] Regenerators.-In a coke over having regenerators filled with blocks arranged to provide smooth-walled continuous pas. sages for the air to be heated, the air is supplied by a fan at such a speed that turbulent flow is produced in the regenerator passages. The regenerators may be reduced in size, and when the oven is constructed as shown in Fig. 1 with end ports c, c<1> between the regenerators a<1>, a<2> and the heating flues, the lower of the two superposed regenerator chambers usually provided may be replaced by a flue d. A suitable form of block for the regenerator filling is shown in Fig. 4.
