[Class 83 (iv).j In a lead coating press for cables, which may have a mandrel holder as in Specification 287,099, the die is supported against an outer-lying part of the die holder connected to the press-head, the other parts of the holder being carried independently of and being movable longitudinally relative to the die. A die holder may comprise a threaded bush 10, a base ring 16, a plate 11, a sleeve 12, a ring 13 and set screws 14, the die 9 bearing, through a bush 15, against the projecting portion of the bush 10. In modifications the bushes 10 and 15 may be connected by a bayonet joint, or the bush 15 may be carried independently of the bush 10 by a bridge piece connected by bolts with the press-head.
