Piston packing.-The angle of a cup-leather 3 for an hydraulic press is supported by a ring 18 of copper, brass, or other ductile metal, which has a concave face to fit the leather. The cupleather is expanded by a split ring 4, having overlapping ends and adjustable by means of a screw 11, which engages by means of collars 11<1>, 12 with a lug 9 at one end of the ring and screws into a lug 10 at the other end.
