Abstract

294,282. Husband, T. N. April 22, 1927. Cup - leather packing; packing, non - metallic; packing, metallic. -In packing for hydraulic apparatus comprising a leather or other ring 13 secured in an inclined recess 15 in the cylinder wall, the groove in the cylinder wall is enlarged at 19 to permit access of the fluid to the back of the packing. The ring 13 may be integral, or divided at one place. A liner 16 of leather or other material may be interposed between the ring 13 and the ram. The liner may be positioned by a sleeve 18 and gland 17. Specifications 7766/97 and 293,730 are referred to.
