Abstract

335,641. Wilson, H. R. July 4, 1929. Roofs; girders.-A braced girder 2, Fig. 3, of triangular section with apex downwards, extends in one or more lengths along the ridge of a roof, either or both of the upper booms 4, 5 replacing the usual purlins. The booms 4, 5 consisting of angle or other irons, are joined together by bracing 14, and by bracing 8 to a lower boom 3, such as a tee iron, which may form a track for lifting tackle. The girder is joined by plates 10 to the principal trusses 1. A similar girder may be applied at the eaves, as shown in Fig. 5.
