Abstract
335,484. Asch, E. Jan. 8, 1929, [Convention date]. Addition to 300,511. Vacuum tubes.-In a cascade resistancecoupled amplifier in which the anode of one stage is directly coupled to the grid of the next stage as described in the parent Specification, the cathodes are heated separately and independently of one another. The Figure shows a two-stage amplifier in which the first valve l1 is indirectly heated and the second valve l2 is directly heated through separate transformer windings. The voltage-dropping resistance r may be variable to adjust the grid bias of the second valve. The valves may be constructed as described in the parent Specification in a single envelope and with a single element forming the grid of one valve and the anode of the preceding valve.
