Abstract

300,511. Asch, E. Nov. 10, 1927, [Con. vention date]. Vacuum tubes.-In a cascade resistance coupled amplifier in which the anode of one stage is directly coupled to the grid of the next stage high resistances Ra1. Ra2 which are a multiple of the internal valve resistances are employed. The valves may be placed in a single envelope as shown and a single element may function as both the grid of one stage and the anode of the preceding stage. This element may in addition carry the cathode and may be flat as 'shown or curved to improve the valve characteristics. Resistances W1 .. W4 are connected in series with the cathodes to produce the desired voltage differences between the cathode and grid of each stage.
