333,883. Beadle, C. R. G., and Gauld, J. A. Feb. 20, 1929. Spray burners. - In a spraying or atomizing device more particularly for use as a spray burner, in which a film of liquid is atomized by a jet of air or steam, the pipes supplying the liquid and the atomizing air &c. are adjustably mounted on a housing plate in such manner that any convenient proportion can exist between the parts of the pipes on opposite sides of the plate. The fuel supply pipe having a control valve B discharges the fuel from a nozzle C which may be bent in cross section to lie around the periphery of the cross section of the pipe D supplying the atomizing fluid which issues from a slot or orifice F. The pipe D may be extended to form a sump or cushion chamber G or may be fitted with a, drain pipe I and cocks J. A plate M serves to clamp the pipes in a given position relative to the plate K. In a modification the fuel overflows a pan N and the atomizing fluid issues from an orifice P around the underside of the pan.
