Abstract

21,681. Polliak, H., and Howson, G. Oct. 2. Spray burners.-In liquid-fuel sprayers in which a rotatable cap having a series of holes of different sizes is provided on the nozzle for regulating the amount of liquid issuing, a rod or spindle is secured to the cap and adapted to be rotated by a hand-wheel or the like situated behind, and remote from, the nozzle. In the form shown, a disk a provided with openings c of different sizes, any one of which may be turned opposite the fuel emission orifice i, controls the supply, and is actuated by a spindle k and hand-wheel, lever, &c. e. A spring f may be furnished to retain the disk a in contact with the nozzle b, and a spring detent h for temporarily holding the plate in any of its operative positions. The disk may alternatively be arranged against the inside of the nozzle. Also, the disk may be formed with a single orifice, the series of openings being arranged in the nozzle. In a modification, the spindle k is shown in two parts screwed together, and the spring f is arranged on the spindle.
