Abstract

9563. Atkinson, H. G. April 23. Nozzles with hinged joints; cleaning-devices. -A spraying-device for horticultnral, agricultural, and other purposes comprises an adjustable spraying-nozzle and an automatic cleaning- device. The chamber b, Fig. 2, is carried by the inlet pipe k secured to the plate o which carries a pin s. This pin engages one of a number of holes r in a cap fixed to the body n to regulate the angular position of the nozzle portion. The liquid enters the chamber b through a tangential passage c. The chamber b, Fig. 1, is fitted with a cover d and provided internally with a spring-pressed plunger f carrying a tapering projection g, which enters the spraying-orifice a, but on the entry of liquid is forced back against the pressure of the spring.
