Connecting to drums and barrels.-A tapping device for drums, barrels &c. comprises an orifice 4 obturated by a spring-controlled piston 5 which carries on its forward end an extension 15 to reduce the liability of the valve to drip at the port, the device being secured to a tubular neck projectipg from the barrel &c. by first inserting a flange 9 while the plane of the flange is inclined to the axis of the neck and thereafter screwing up a nut 7 so that a washer 17 is pressed against the edge of the neck to form a tight joint.
