Abstract

536,158. Pipe joints. ASCOT GAS WATER HEATERS, Ltd., and WILLIAMS, F. R. Feb. 9,1940, No. 2560. [Class 99(i)] In a joint for securing a pipe to a plate a pipe end is passed through a flange 5 on the plate and is spun or otherwise turned over at 11 to grip a screwed sleeve 7 which is recessed at 8 and bears on the plate. The sleeve is recessed top and bottom, solder being introduced through the recesses 9 to secure the sleeve to the pipe. The joint is completed by a union nut and packing as shown in Fig. 3.
