Abstract
332,982. Parkes, S. R. May 17, 1929. Stays.-A stay-bar 2 for a door or window is fitted with springs 6, 6a on either side of the swivelling guide-member 3 through which the stay-bar passes. The arrangement serves to cushion the opening and closing movements of the door, and also to hold the door firmly in the closed position. This is effected when the door is closed by the spring 6, which is then under compression between the collar 5 and the swivelling-guide, the connection between the bracket B and the stay-bar being past the alignment of the swivelling-lug 3 and the centre of the door-hinge C. The end of the stay-bar is screwed at 8 and fitted with a collar 7 and stop 9 for the adjustment of the spring 6<a>.
