Further sources of light 5, 6 are fitted for additional direct and indirect illumination. The apertures in the casing may be closed by glass plates 3. As shown, the invention is applied to a wall lamp; for ceiling lamps a series of the units 1, 2 are arranged in the form of a polygon and additional lamps fitted above and below, the whole being enclosed in glass plates. The additional reflector may be of a diffusing character, or diffusing screens may be employed.
