Studios.-A photographic studio is constructed with a separate compartment in which the artificial light is generated, and is also provided with transparent screens and reflecting-surfaces, which are coloured and arranged in such a manner that the effective illumination is equivalent in colour and diffusion to daylight. In the construction shown, the wall b and the ceiling c are of fabric, and the roof C of the studio is a reflecting-surface. To diffuse and modify the light from the lamp B further, additional screens f, c<1> are arranged, preferably as draw-screens, and reflectors f<1> are fitted as required. Additional hinged reflectors on movable stands can be utilized in the chamber A. In a modified construction of studio, the partition b extends to the roof.
