Abstract

452,486. Lamps for illuminating pictures etc.; floodlights. ALLOM, D. S., 16, Grosvenor Place, Westminster. Feb. 23, 1935, No. 5856. [Class 75 (iv)] A lamp for illuminating ceilings, pictures, tapestries, or the like, or for floodlighting buildings or other structures, comprises one or more tubular electric light bulbs A, a troughshaped reflector B of parabolic section, and a trough-shaped reflector C of circular section which intercepts those rays from the bulb or bulbs which are outside the field of the parabolic reflector and which would fall on the object to be illuminated and redirects them back through the bulb or bulbs on to the parabolic reflector without intercepting any of the rays projected by the parabolic reflector. Both reflectors are approximately co-extensive with the length of the bulb or bulbs, and the lamp may include a casing D. For illuminating a ceiling Y the lamp may be screened by a cornice X, and for illuminating a picture or the like the lamp may be arranged to project the light upwards or downwards.
