Ceiling and like overhead lamps; street and like lamps. - To illuminate the glass panel of an ornamental lantern, the body of the lantern is provided with an horizontal extension E which reflects a small amount of light through the panels G. A deflector D attached to the bulb holder also reflects light through the panels G. The surfaces D, E, the sides of the lanterns other than the panels G and the outer surface of the main reflector R are painted matt white.
