Hook fastenings.-In a fastening for motorcar bonnets or the like comprising a spring- l o a d e d telescopic member which is articulated at one end to bonnet or chassis and provided with a hook at the other end, means are provided to vary the length of the member or one of its attachments to facilitate coupling or uncoupling of the hook. In Fig. 1 a hand operated screw k bears on an end plate b and depresses a spring c when a hook f is to be disengaged from a bonnet e. A breaking plate k<1> bears on the screw. Fig. 7 illustrates a method of depressing the plate b by means of a cam p on a handle j<1>. Figures 10 and 11 show two other methods of facilitating detachment of the hook f.
