533,486. Draught appliances for road vehicles. SIGMUND, J., SIGMUND, M., SIGMUND, F., GRUNTA, M., SIGMUND, V., SANOVA, M., and GRUNTOVA, M., (trading as SIGMUND PUMPY). Nov. 10, 1939, No. 29851. Convention date, Nov. 11, 1938. [Class 108 (ii)] Relates to a draw bar for a fire engine intended to be drawn by another vehicle or by hand. According to the invention, the handles 4, Fig. 1, are pivoted to the end of the draw bar 1 and they can be folded back against the drawbar when the engine is drawn by another vehicle, an eye 3 being provided for coupling with the vehicle. The handles are pivoted in bearings 2, Fig. 2, and are locked in either of the required positions by a bolt 8, on the end of a rod 11, which locks in either of two openings 9, 10. Each rod 11 is urged forward by a spring, and is connected to a cap on the end of the handle, the bolt 8 being withdrawn by means of the cap.
