Abstract

331,924. Linotype & Machinery, Ltd., and Shuttleworth, J. April 12, 1929. Sheet - separators. -In sheet - feeding mechanism for printing-machines of the kind in which separation of the sheets is assisted by an air blast, the blast is controlled by a valve 5 which is operated by a cam 6 associated with a plate 19 of similar shape which is angularly adjustable to enable the duration of the blast to be varied. When the valve 5 is to be operated intermittently, the cam 16 is connected to a collar 12 on a rotating shaft 4 by means of a screw-bolt passing through lugs on the cam and the collar. The cam 16 can however be connected to a fixed bearing so that the valve 5 may be held open permanently, and a, continuous blast employed.
