Folding paper.-In order to prevent set-off between freshly-printed surfaces of a sheet while it is being folded, the folding-rollers are built up of discs 1, 2, Fig. 1, the discs 1 being shaped so as to grip the sheet at the fold only, and the discs 2 being situated at the ends of the disc 1 and adapted to grip the sheet along its side margins. The discs 1 are provided with sheet-gripping surfaces 3, Fig. 2, extending over only a small portion of the circumference, while the sheet-gripping surfaces 4 of the discs 2 extend over the whole circumference. One of the rollers may be formed wholly of discs 2. For dealing with differently printed and different size sheets, the discs 1 and 2 are adjustable along the roller shaft 5 by means of set-screws 7, and the discs 2 are made in two semicircular parts clamped together by screws 8 so that they can be placed between a pair of discs 1 if desired.
