Pencil holders.-A pencil holder is provided at its rear end with an annular refill receptacle closed by the operating-head of the mechanism and constituted by a flanged tube g<1> in which the whole of the mechanism is detachably mounted. The upper flange of the tube g<1> is slotted to permit the passage of leads, and is screwthreaded to receive a member c' to which the screw c of the propelling-mechanism is fixed, the other parts of the mechanism consisting of a longitudinallyslotted tube d secured to the rotatable operating-head b, and a follower e which may be constructed as described in Specification 309,003. The member c<1> is carried by a milled head c<2> which leaves to close the refill receptacle.
