Abstract

331,031. Andreas, A. April 27, 1929. Paper and like bags; securing bags, special means for.-In making paper &c. valve bags of the cross-bottom type, a strip of paper 6 of such a length as to present a tongue or extension 9 projecting beyond the edge is stuck down over the folded flaps of the bottom and the tongue, pasted or otherwise, is tucked into the valve opening. Alternatively, the tongue may be slipped in the valve opening and thereafter the strip be stuck down .on to the bottom of the bag. The cross bottom of the bag is reinforced by a sewn seam 11 which extends beyond the edges of the bag to form handles 12, and may be associated with a cord or band to reinforce the handles.
