Fig 1 shows the paper or like diaphragm c<1> mounted in the flanged metal ring c which is positioned between the inturned edge a of the tin b and a bead or series of indents d on the wall thereof. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the flanged ring f has a peripheral indentation f<1> engaged by the edge e of the tin. The containers are shown as provided with slip-on lids h.
