Thermionic amplifiers.-To secure uniform amplification over a wide range of frequencies in a multi-stage resistance-coupled amplifier, at least two of the stages, viz., 1 and 4, are connected to the high-tension supply 9 through a common resistance or impedance 14, supplementary to the intervalve coupling-resistances 10, 13. The coupling-resistances 11, 12 of the second and third stages are directly connected to the high-tension supply. When the amplifier consists of an even number of stages, the supplementary impedance 14 may be common to all the anode circuits.
