341,403. Thermionic amplifiers. DICKER, S. G. S., 20, Holborn, London.- (Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken ; 6, Emmasingel, Eindhoven, Holland.) Oct. 7, 1929, No. 30417. [Class 40 (v).] A thermionic amplifier, using one or more pentodes V2 or other multi-grid valves which are so constructed that even the high frequencies are amplified strongly, comprises, in parallel with the anode impedance 11, a resistance 12 of such value that the high frequencies are amplified without distortion. The resistance is connected in parallel with the primary 11 (Fig. 1, not shown) or the secondary 13 of the transformer in the anode circuit. Alternatively the resistance is in parallel with a telephone or loud-speaker 14 which is connected directly in the anode circuit of the last valve of a cascade amplifier (Fig. 3, not shown). Negative grid bias for the valve is taken from a resistance 16 in the anode circuit. Specification 287,958, [Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.], is referred to.
