328,867. Ellwood, E. July 17, 1929. Holders. - An adapter of the bayonet joint type comprises two parts 1, 2, Fig. 1, held together by screws 3 and terminal sleeve nuts 4, the heads. of the screws being composed each by a kidney shaped plate 5 under which is clamped a part 7 of a terminal spring clip 8, Fig. 2. The opposed faces of the parts 1, 2 of the holder, positioned by projections 1<a> on part 1 engaging with the corresponding holes on part 2, are recessed as at 10 to form a space for the member 1, the extremities of which constitute the bayonet joint pin; this member 11 pivots about a pin 12 and is normally held in the position shown in Fig. 3 by a spring 13. When the adapter is engaged it is given an additional twist, permitted by the member 11 rotating about the pivot 12, to engage the spring clips 8 with the live contacts of the lamp holder and thus make a better electrical connection.
