Abstract
221,910. Collie, J. H. April 9, 1924. Holders; caps.-In electric lamp-holder adapters &c. the conductors pass through inclined wedgeshaped grooves in opposite sides of the partition which separates the terminals, as shown in Fig. 2, such that they grip the conductors more tightly as the pull on the conductors increases. The contact members, each of which may be made of one piece secured against rotation, as shown in Fig. 3, by means of a steady pin or the like, are inclined at their contact faces so that when the adapter is inserted in a lamp-holder the spring plungers of the holder are deflected sideways and are thereby caused to make good contact with their housings. Lamp caps may be made with similarly inclined surfaces for deflecting the contact pins.
