328,211. Carpmael, A., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). Jan. 18, 1929. Hydrochloric acid; hydrofluoric acid.-Hydrochloric acid is evolved in the preparation of alkali fluorides and bifluorides by the action of gaseous hydrofluoric acid in excess on the corresponding alkali chloride. By treatment with excess gaseous hydrofluoric acid below 50‹ C., for instance at 15‹ C., a liquid alkali fluoride is formed, being a loose additive compound of alkali fluoride and hydrofluoric acid, decomposed by heating.
