310,230. Johnson, J. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). June 25, 1928. Nitrosyl chloride is formed when alkali metal chlorides are treated with liquid nitrogen tetroxide for the production of alkali metal nitrates, and may be separated from unchanged tetroxide by fractional distillation.
