Abstract

327,351. Macrae, R. S. June 27, 1929. Hook fastenings. -A wire coil 3 which is mounted on a part 1 is rotated by a knob 8 to engage an eye 19 attached to a part 2. The coil is adjustably secured in a hole 6 of spindle 5 by a collar 11 and a nut 12. The part 1 is bushed and a shoulder 7 on the spindle is pressed against the head 25 of the bush by a spring washer 13<1> between the collar 11 and a nut 10 which secures the bush 4. The eye 19 is carried by a spring-pressed plunger, the stem 18 of which is adjustable in length. The plunger slides in a cylinder 13, which is carried on a sloping bracket 22. The cylinder head 20 has a diametrical slot to receive the eye 19 and the coil 3 is notched at the place where the eye 19 normally rests.
