326,507. Payne, T. H., Thorburn, J. W., Norris, W. H. G., Cadel, C. S., and Sewell, V. C. Dec. 14, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Detachable installations. - An outboard motor installation has a low speed vertical shaft geared to it and to a driving shalt through right-angle gearing and through a reduction gear to the horizontal shaft of a high speed engine. An engine 1 is arranged inboard with a shaft 3 horizontal and drives the cam shaft 2 through two-toone gearing 10, 11. The drive is taken from the cam shaft through a clutch to bevel wheels 6, 7, 8 and thence to the vertical shaft 5. The bevel wheels are enclosed in a casing 17 which allows the outboard portion to swing and it has a spigot conection with the main casing 15, and swinging coupling bolts for disengagement, there being a splined connection 21 between the driven member 22 of the clutch shaft 23.
