Abstract

326,412. Saunders, A. May 21, 1929. Impeller blades; driving.-A rotary fan has inclined projections B which are secured or cast on the hub shell C and blades A are detachably secured to these projections. The hub C has cavities D separated by parts F and part of the periphery is cut away as shown at E. The parts F act as blades and urge gas away from the centre of the impeller through the gaps E. The end of the hub C has a tapered surface N which forms one side of the driving pulley the other being formed by the surface P of the disc O. A number of washers R take up the requisite space between the surfaces N, P, and the parts are held on the flanged bush G by the nut K. In a modification the driving pulley has a number of distance pieces which render it suitable for driving by a flat belt.
