Abstract

326,165. Scholes, G. H., Pearce, F. J., and Scholes & Co., Ltd., G. H. Nov. 26, 1928. Plug couplings.-The contacts on one or both members of a plug coupling are mounted to slide or pivot against resilient action to allow self adjustment of the distance between the contacts. The sockets 5 are arranged in elongated holes 9, 10 in the base 6 and housing 11 and are pressed towards or away from one another by springs 12 or rubber cushions. The entrance of each socket is flared and may have annular zones of insulation and metal produced by sleeves 13, 14 respectively to prevent sparking and to give a quick make and break. The extremities of the pins may be of insulating material. Specification 326,133 is referred to.
