Abstract
325,818. Greaves, A., and Hethering- ton & Sons, Ltd., J. Oct. 22, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Drawing-frames.-The sliver passing from the rollers of a drawing-frame to the trumpet and calender rollers is passed over a series of spaced transverse bars, so arranged that a vibratory motion will be imparted to them by the passage of the sliver. The bars 13, Fig. 3, which may be of square, rhomboidal, triangular, or other suitable cross section, are secured to side pieces 14 provided with brackets which are secured to the frame, 18 of the machine. They are arranged to present a knife edge to the passing sliver which scrapes over them, thus loosening impurities &c. which fall through the bars. The bars 13, Fig. 7, may move in their supports 14 against the action of springs 20, or may be formed of taut vibratory wires. Specifications 133,800 and 180,063 are referred to.
