Abstract
325,493. Sheppard, H. B. Nov. 16, 1928. Addition to 288,480. Multiple-delivery piston pumps; delivery pipes; suction reservoirs.-A pump for lubricant comprises plungers 13 actuated by a cam &c. 11 driven by a ratchet wheel 19. A sleeve 26 held against the wheel 19 by a spring 27 is frictionally driven by the wheel 19 and rotates a spindle 9 having a threaded extension 8 engaging a threaded bore in a piston 7, which travels upwards and feeds the lubricant to the pump inlet ports 29. The lubriant delivered by the pump past the valve 15 passes through conduits 16, 38 into a passage 37 in a disc 18 which is rotated by the wheel 19 through a star-wheel 35 and gearing 31, 32. The lubricant passes through ports 39, 40 into a series of ports 45 arranged in a fixed plate 41 connected by pipes to the points to be lubricated. The passage 37 may deliver also to peripheral ports opening into peripheral ports in the member 41. In the form shown in Fig. 5, the plate 18 has a radial passage 37 which delivers successively to ports 45 in the plate 41, and elbow pipes 54 are pushed into the holes 45 and are coupled to delivery pipes. A plate 57 holds the pipes 54 in place.
