Abstract
325,248. Seabrook, A. H., and Avis, A. Sept. 12, 1928. Cores for cables; conductive materials. - An overhead electric conductor comprises a copper core surrounded by steel wire segments. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a centre 20 is surrounded by segments 21. In Fig. 2, the faces 22 of the segments 23 are formed with grooves for wires 24. In modified constructions, the adjacent faces of segmental wires may be corrugated, or may be of concave and convex interlocking section. In a construction for use with wireless transmission aerials, the conducting member may be in the form of a sheath surrounding the tension member. Specification 303,666 is referred to.
