Abstract

324,846. Mullard Radio Valve Co., Ltd., and Waite, C. R. G. March 16, 1929. Vacuum tubes. - Anodes of thermionic valves or electron discharge tubes are carried by one or more support rods each dividing into two branches 3 sealed at their ends into the reentrant part 1 of the envelope. An open-ended box-shaped anode 2 may be carried by two side supports each consisting of two rods 3 spaced apart at the seal 4 and welded together within side flanges of the anode, one rod of each pair extending beyond the anode to support a glass rod 5 carrying filament and grid supports. Filament hooks may be carried by zig-zag springs 8 and grid supports by zig-zag springs 11 at right-angles to the springs 8. The rods 3 are sealed into pinched branches 4 of the part 1, the branches 4 being at right-angles to the main pinch 16 carrying filament leads 15 and grid supports.
