Abstract

324,672. Redler, A. Oct. 31, 1928. Driving and like chains without separate joint pins.-Links for conveyer chains such as those described in Specifications 169,262 and 243,770, [both in Class 78 (i), Conveyers &c.]. provided with transverse projections or cross-bars connecting two links are so arranged that consecutive links can be separated when turned into a certain position, being interlocked in other positions and the projections or cross-bars are placed at or near the points of the links. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2 links a, b with cross-bars d, e are connected by intermediate pieces c having projections i with which engage flanges g on the links. Pins c<1> forming part of the pieces c engage holes in the links and form pivots. By turning the intermediate pieces at right angles to the links the projections i are brought opposite to places where the flanges g are interrupted and the links can be separated. In other forms the intermediate pieces c are dispensed with, the pivot pins and projections heing formed on one link and the flange on the next. The links may be of U-shape.
