Abstract

323,502. Bellocq, T. Sept. 3, 1928. Momentum apparatus.- Apparatus for raising liquid from wells by means of compression waves produced in the liquid comprises a piston A reciprocating in a cylinder B which has an outlet valve VS and opens into a pipe C dipping into the liquid. The apparatus is first filled with liquid while the piston A is at the end of its outward stroke, after which the piston is operated to produce compression waves in the liquid. When the piston is at or near the end of its inward stroke, the valve VS is opened by mechanism operated by the shaft driving the piston, and liquid is delivered while fresh liquid enters the pipe C through a non-return valve at its lower end.
