Abstract
359,963. Reciprocating-pumps. HAILWOOD, E. A., Beacon House, Texas Street, Morley, near Leeds. June 20, 1930, No. 18814. [Class 102 (i).] A pump for liquidsoap &c., arranged in a container C, or carried by the lid of a container, draws liquid from the container on the upstroke through a port P<1> in the piston P, through which the piston-rod passes. The piston is lifted on the up-stroke by a stop R<2> on the piston-rod, the piston-rod and the stop being formed with flutes R<3>, or with through passages, to permit the passage of liquid. On the downstroke the port P<1> is closed by a valve R<1> on the piston-rod and liquid is discharged through a port A and pipe. A<1>. The piston is operated by a lever L and is pressed downwards by a spring S. A valve face R<5> on the piston-rod closes the port A when the apparatus is stationary. Alternatively, the discharge may take place through a passage in the piston-rod. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 16009/00, [Class 125, Stoppering &c.], 18908/06, [Class 102, Pumps &c.], 107,530, 146,687, 221,032, and 328,809, [all in Class 102 (i), Pumps &c.].
