Abstract

321,761. Wedge, E. L., and Blackham, H. Sept. 13, 1928. Connecting-rods.-In a ball joint between a connecting-rod C and a piston, the lower bearing bush E is acted on by a helical spring H, confined between a flange F on the bush and a flange J on a gland K. The upper bearing is formed in a cup R, secured to the piston by a bolt S, the gland K screwing into the cup. In a modification, the cup R is replaced by an upper bearing bush fitting the interior of the piston, and the gland K screws directly into the interior of the piston.
