Abstract

396,407. Pistons ; connecting-rods. NEVATT, C. G., The Haven, Waterford Road, Henleaze, and KINGSTON, E. G., Clare Street House, both in Bristol. Feb. 2, 1932, No. 3140. [Class 122 (i).] A universal joint for a connecting-rod comprises a cup 17 which is held between a convex surface 15 inside the piston head and a concave cap 20. The surface 15 is formed integral with a flange 14 to which the cap 20 is bolted. The skirt 13 of the piston is supported by six radial ribs 12, the apertures between the ribs permitting access to the bolts.
