Abstract

214,959. Schneider et Cie. April 28, 1923, [Convention date]. Cylinders, mounting.-A cylinder A is attached to its crank-case B by a sleeve C having two oppositelyhanded screw-threads c<1>, c<2> which respectively engage a collar a and the crank-case or a sleeve b screwed into it. The upper end of the sleeve c supports a plastic joint between the cylinder and its water jacket E, the joint being comprised by a rubber r.ng F, a metal band f and a piano-wire f<1>. The sleeve C is locked in position by a spring I which engages a groove c, the spring being held by a pin G which locks the sleeve b. In a modification, the screw-threads on the sleeve C are on its inner and outer sides.
