434,618. Valve seats. POBJOY AIRMOTORS, Ltd., and POBJOY, D. R., Rochester, Kent. April 20, 1934, No. 12011. [Class 135] A valve seating ring 3. having substantially the same coefficient of expansion as the cylinder head, into which it is screwed, is formed with a collar 6 which seats on the head and conveys thereto the stress due to the impact of the valve closure ; a soft packing ring 7, preferably of aluminium, is interposed. The ring 3, which is locked by spinning over its end 8, is made from nickelmanganese-chromium steel if it is to be fitted to an aluminium head.
