[Class 7 (ii)] A liner 5 is screwed into a water-cooled extension 1<1> of a cylinder head and a sleevelike water jacket 7 is held by studs 14 which compress a packing 12. If the liner butts on the head extension, a space 13 is left for leaking cooling water to escape. A base flange 15 is held axially by a cotter 17, retained by a collar 18 screwed on to the liner.
