Abstract

321,589. James, J. E. Dec. 21, 1928. Latches, sliding.-A latch bolt A is held in the' retracted position shown by an arm G on a spindle F which passes out through the end plate D of the lock case and has an operating head 0 housed in a recess in the end plate. The arm G, in the upturned position shown, lies in the path of a flange b on a bolt projection B, but is clear of the projection when brought to depending position by rotation of head C. The spindle passes through a bearing piece H secured to the case and situated adjacent arm G to take the thrust due to action of the latch spring.
